Science: A Solid Whole

arXiv Preprint Archive January 28, 2003 Bhag C. Chauhan preprint

However, the observations encompassed by classical physics excludes the observer from the physical reality, yet the deep-down understandung of nature --{\it the quantum theory}-- can not avoid the intrusion of observer into the measurement process. Indeed, the quantum physics experiments have knocked the door of a new paradigm: in which science of consciousness is an important axiom. In the...

Consciousness in Physics

arXiv Preprint Archive March 7, 2002 Joe Henson preprint

This essay discusses the idea that a Theory of Everything would not be complete without a theory of consciousness as one of its parts, and the suggestion that new physics may be needed to describe consciousness. I argue that the motivations behind searching for such a theory arise as the result of misunderstandings over the use of language when talking about consciousness.

Speculations on a Unified Theory of Matter and Mind

arXiv Preprint Archive November 8, 2001 Manoj K. Samal preprint

Physics is so successful today in understanding the nature of matter. What can it say about mind ? Is it possible to have a unified theory of matter and mind within the framework of modern science ? Is Consciousness an accident or is it a natural consequence of laws of nature ? Are these laws of nature the same as the laws of physics ? We make an attempt here to unify mind with matter based on...

Unified Theory of Bivacuum, Particles Duality, Time & Fields Bivacuum Mediated Interaction, as a Bridge between Normal and Paranormal

arXiv Preprint Archive March 12, 2001 Alex Kaivarainen preprint

The coherent physical theory of Psi phenomena is absent till now due to its high complexity and multilateral character. The original mechanism of Bivacuum mediated Psi phenomena, proposed here, is based on few stages of my long term efforts. They include creation of new theories: 1) Unified theory of Bivacuum, matter and fields duality, mass and charge origination as a result of Bivacuum...

On a Physical Metatheory of Consciousness

arXiv Preprint Archive October 11, 2000 Miroljub Dugic, Dejan Rakovic, Milan M. Cirkovic preprint

We show that the modern quantum mechanics, and particularly the theory of decoherence, allows for formulating a sort of a physical metatheory of consciousness. Particularly, the analysis of the necessary conditions for the occurrence of decoherence, along with the hypothesis that consciousness bears (more-or-less) well definable physical origin, leads to a wider physical picture naturally...

Can Science `explain' Consciousness ?

arXiv Preprint Archive February 24, 2000 M K Samal preprint

Consciousness is the process by which one attributes `meaning' to the world. Considering F$\phi$llesdal's definition of `meaning' as the joint product of all `evidence' that is available to those who `communicate', we conclude that science can, not only reduce all the {\em evidence} to a Basic Entity (we call BE), but also can `explain' consciousness once a suitable definition for {\em...

A reappraisal of Teresa of Avila's supposed hysteria.

Journal of Religion and Health December 1, 1985 C M Bache 18 citations

This essay offers a reassessment of Teresa's severe seizures which were such a characteristic feature of her mysticism. The diagnosis of hysteria is no longer viable, at the very least given its abandonment by clinicians. An alternative analysis is developed by phenomenologically comparing Teresa's seizures to parallel experiences of subjects in LSD-assisted psychotherapy. Using Stanislav...

Personal experience and theology: St. Symeon the New Theologian

Zenodo (CERN European Organization for Nuclear Research) November 1, 2026 Marius Popescu preprint

The theological work of St. Symeon the New Theologian, long marginalized by ”official” academic theology and preserved mainly within monastic circles, has in recent decades become the subject of growing scholarly interest. This article examines the originality of St. Symeon’s theology—rooted firmly in Scripture and Patristic Tradition, yet distinguished by the central place it gives to the...

A Comparative Study of Spiritual Imagination in W. B. Yeats and Sri Aurobindo's Poetry

Zenodo (CERN European Organization for Nuclear Research) October 31, 2026 Shailesh Tukaram Bagdane preprint

Abstract: Yeats's theosophical efforts awakened him to supernatural entities and soul elements of the universe especially in Irish tradition and mythology. Yeats developed visions of another world and aspired to metaphysically achieve spiritual and universal significance. Yeats concretely located the everlasting philosophies in spiritual and universal significance. In the process Yeats’s poetry...

The Names of the Jinn Kings of Java: An Alternative Approach to Treating Demonic Possession

International Journal of Integrative Sciences October 31, 2026 Dedi Cahyadi, M. Hasan Basri

One of the cultural traditions in the Nusantara is knowing the names of the spirit kings of Java, found in the Kidungan literature attributed to Sunan Kalijaga, though few truly understand its philosophical depth. Using a phenomenological approach, this study examines its application for spiritual disturbances, particularly in treating spirit possession where literal interpretations often...
