Validation and psychometric properties of the Portuguese version of the Freiburg Mindfulness Inventory (FMI)

Counselling Psychology Quarterly February 26, 2025 Vivien Iacob, Cláudia Carmo, Soraia Garcês et al. 1 citation

A Portuguese version of the Freiburg Mindfulness Inventory (FMI) short form was developed and tested in two studies. The first study with 337 participants assessed internal consistency, reliability, and factorial validity through exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. The second study with 150 participants in an Interculturality and Mindfulness program examined convergent and concurrent validity, temporal stability, and sensitivity to change. The Portuguese FMI showed high internal consistency (ω = 0.87) and a unidimensional factor structure. The findings support the instrument's satisfactory psychometric qualities for measuring mindfulness in the Portuguese population.

Comparison of face-to-face and synchronous online mindfulness-based interventions: a quasi-experimental study

Health Psychology Report October 8, 2025 Saul Neves de Jesús, João Antunes, Ilana Andretta et al.

An 8-week mindfulness-based intervention, delivered either face-to-face or synchronously online, reduced anxiety, stress, depression, and emotion regulation difficulties and increased well-being and optimism among 114 university students of multiple nationalities. Benefits were seen at post-test and at a 3-month follow-up, with the online group showing greater improvements on some measures. No significant differences emerged between formats for most outcomes, supporting online mindfulness interventions as a viable alternative to in-person formats.
