The increasing use of computers and robots in cognitive psychology research has renewed interest in the possibility of machine consciousness. This has led to the reformulation of unresolved issues in the philosophy of mind and theory of knowledge in terms of machine-oriented modeling, which in turn raises new questions about such modeling.
