Abstract

Nine indole alkaloids have been isolated from the roots of Ervatamia yunnanensis and identified as: heyneanine ( 1 ), ibogamine ( 2 ), coronaridine ( 3 ), voacangine ( 4 ), voacangine hydroxyindolenine ( 5 ), ibogaine ( 6 ), (+)-minovincine ( 7 ), voachalotin ( 8 ), and a new compound named ervayunine ( 9 ). The structure of ervayunine has been determined from physical and spectral data.
