Abstract
This article proposes a sequential structural architecture for formulating the fundamental description of the phenomenon in transcendental phenomenological research applied to education. Although eidetic reduction is central to Husserlian phenomenology, contemporary empirical studies often treat this stage implicitly or in a fragmented way, limiting the traceability, communicability, and epistemic rigour of phenomenological analysis. Drawing on a doctoral study that explored the lived experiences of preservice teachers during pedagogical practice, a need emerged for an analytic-epistemic structure capable of guiding the transition from textural descriptions to eidetic insights while sustaining the phenomenological attitude. In response, this article presents a four-phase sequential architecture composed of: (1) textural description, (2) structural description, (3) imaginative variation and (4) eidetic synthesis. Each phase is grounded in transcendental phenomenology and oriented toward articulating the constitutive logic through which the phenomenon reveals its essential structure. The proposal is situated within contemporary debates on phenomenological method and supported by contributions from recent methodological literature that emphasise the need for explicit analytic coherence in phenomenological studies. Beyond its philosophical grounding, the architecture demonstrates strong pedagogical applicability. It provides a methodological scaffold for qualitative researchers, supports the development of reflective teacher education practices, and offers a transferable structure for examining complex experiential phenomena in educational and professional contexts. This sequential model contributes to strengthening the epistemic legitimacy of transcendental phenomenology in education by offering a communicable, flexible, and philosophically consistentapproach to formulating the fundamental description of the phenomenon.
