An intracranial EEG dataset was collected from 38 epilepsy patients across three research centers as part of an adversarial collaboration testing Global Neuronal Workspace Theory and Integrated Information Theory. Participants viewed visual stimuli—faces, objects, letters, and false fonts—in three orientations and for three durations, performing a Go/No-Go target detection task. The dataset includes demographics, clinical information, electrode reconstructions, behavioral performance, and eye-tracking data, all converted to BIDS format. It is intended for reuse in consciousness science and vision neuroscience to investigate stimulus processing, target detection, and task-relevance.

A psychedelic drug, psilocybin, and a comparison drug, methylphenidate, produce distinct acute and persistent changes in brain networks measurable with precision functional mapping, a technique that improves signal detection by repeatedly scanning individuals. Seven healthy adults underwent extensive baseline brain imaging, imaging shortly after drug intake, and follow-up scans for up to two weeks. Four participants repeated the psilocybin protocol months later. The dataset includes resting-state and task-based functional MRI, structural scans, and subjective experience reports. The authors release this resource to help researchers study how psilocybin and methylphenidate alter brain network organization over time.

PsiConnect is a large-scale neuroimaging study that investigates how psilocybin affects brain activity and subjective experience depending on context. Sixty-two participants received a 19 mg dose of psilocybin and underwent functional, structural, and diffusion-weighted MRI, as well as EEG, before and after administration. Scans included resting-state and three naturalistic conditions: guided meditation, music listening, and movie watching. Half of the participants completed an 8-week meditation training program, allowing examination of interactions between meditation, psilocybin, and brain function. Multi-echo fMRI improved signal quality. Behavioral and self-report measures captured acute and long-term effects, with follow-ups up to one year. Data is openly shared to support future research.

The Altered States Database (ASDB) is an open-science project that provides psychometric questionnaire data on subjective experiences of altered states of consciousness (ASC) induced by pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods. Developed through a systematic literature review following PRISMA guidelines, the database includes data from 165 journal articles identified via PubMed and Web of Science. It contains responses from validated questionnaires such as the APZ, 5D-ASC, 11-ASC, PCI, HRS, and MEQ30. The data is freely available on the Open Science Framework and the ASDB website, enabling calculation of comparable psychometric values and dose-response relationships for substances that induce ASC.

A large-scale, multi-center dataset combines MEG, EEG, eye-tracking, and structural MRI recordings from 100 individuals (mean age 22.79, 54 female, all right-handed) across two research centers (UK and China). The data were collected through an adversarial collaboration between advocates of the Global Neuronal Workspace Theory and the Integrated Information Theory of consciousness. Participants performed a non-speeded Go/No-Go target detection task with visual stimuli from four categories (faces, objects, letters, false fonts) at different orientations and durations (0.5, 1.0, 1.5 s) under various task conditions. The dataset follows the Brain Imaging Data Structure (BIDS) and includes extensive metadata to enhance reusability.

Participants viewed faces, objects, letters, and false fonts presented at three orientations and three durations (0.5, 1.0, 1.5 seconds) while identifying infrequent targets. Two categories were task-relevant and two were task-irrelevant in each block. The simple design makes the data broadly reusable for testing predictions from other theories of consciousness and for examining visual processing. Anonymized data, quality reports, demographics, behavioral performance, and eye-tracking data are publicly accessible.

An fMRI dataset from 26 healthy volunteers performing mental imagery tasks (tennis, navigation, hand squeeze) and a motor response task under graded propofol sedation captures brain activity across varying sedation levels, including instances of volitional mental imagery despite behavioral unresponsiveness. Prior analyses using this dataset have investigated the anterior insula's role in conscious access and asymmetric neural dynamics during loss and recovery of consciousness. The dataset provides a resource for exploring neural mechanisms of anesthesia and consciousness, featuring mental imagery tasks traditionally used only in disorders of consciousness.

A novel 'qualia structure' paradigm uses relational similarity judgments among color qualia instead of verbal reports to study the neural basis of consciousness. An fMRI dataset was collected from 35 participants who made relational similarity judgments between two of nine color qualia per trial. Half of the trials included a 'no-report' condition to assess the effect of overt reporting. Each participant's color discriminability was also measured with a hue test outside the scanner. The data provide insights into brain functions associated with color qualia and the neural foundations of consciousness.
