Perspectivas contemporáneas sobre el bienestar: el mindfulness, la psicología positiva y la teoría polivagal
Psicología y Salud June 30, 2026 F Ramírez, Georgina Contreras Landgrave
This essay examines well-being and happiness through three complementary approaches: mindfulness, positive psychology, and polyvagal theory. It considers the philosophical and cultural origins of well-being and its effects on the brain and emotions. Based on empirical evidence, it highlights how these perspectives offer tools for cultivating internal balance, regulating emotions, and strengthening social bonds. It also emphasizes understanding happiness not only as an individual experience but as a collective construction nourished by social context, human relationships, and safe environments. Integrating these approaches suggests a model of well-being that transcends the absence of distress and promotes a meaningful, connected, and purposeful life. The authors invite reflection on applying these ideas to public policy, community projects, and daily practices to foster a more just and balanced society.
