Atención plena compasiva para la reducción de la ansiedad precompetitiva en atletas de taekwondo: un estudio piloto
Psicología y Salud June 30, 2026 Luis Barrera Gutiérrez, Ana Moreno-Coutiño
A pilot study tested a mindfulness and compassion intervention (Moreno's model) with five high-performance taekwondo athletes (three men, two women; mean age 18.8 years, SD = 0.84; black belts, under-21 category) from Mexico City. The pre-experimental A-B-C design included pre-intervention, post-intervention, and three-month follow-up measurements of anxiety, heart rate, compassion, and mindfulness skills. The intervention comprised nine two-hour group sessions twice weekly. Clinically relevant reductions in anxiety and heart rate occurred, along with increases in compassion and all four FFMQ-M factors: non-reactivity (84.62%), non-judging (120%), acting with awareness (125%), and describing experience (54%). Gains remained stable at follow-up, supporting the model as a psychological intervention for taekwondo athletes.
