The paper reconstructs key findings from the phenomenological analysis of existential feelings—bodily feelings that condition intentional experiences in a pre-reflective way, experienced as a sense of belonging and reality. Drawing on Mathew Ratcliffe's work, it argues that existential feelings form a diverse class of experiences of possibilities with a horizontal structure. The analysis examines the relationship between the sense of belonging and the experience of possibilities, revealing a link between belonging and trust, understood as a non-localized affective style of anticipating possibilities. A key result is the identification of a complex modal structuring of existential feelings, structured by a basic trust that is an affective way of being in a dimension of possibilities.
