Analisis Dampak Meditasi Metta Terhadap Mikrobioma Usus dan Kesehatan Mental
Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan dan Sosial January 31, 2026 Evi Juliani, Lauw Acep
A quasi-experimental study examined the impact of an eight-week loving-kindness meditation (Metta) program on gut microbiome composition and mental health in eight participants with mild to moderate anxiety. The intervention group showed significant increases in anti-inflammatory bacteria genera such as Faecalibacterium and Megamonas, alongside significant reductions in anxiety and depression scores measured by DASS-21. Positive correlations were found between microbiome changes and mental health improvements. The findings suggest that regular meditation practice may help manage stress, depression, anxiety, emotional control, heart health, immune function, and pain reduction, supporting meditation as a valuable component in mental health therapy.
