A 12-week mindfulness-based intervention in an occupational setting improved employee wellbeing. The training produced significant increases in self-reported mindfulness and reductions in perceived stress and psychological distress compared to a control group. The findings suggest that structured mindfulness programs can be effectively implemented in workplace environments to enhance mental health.
An evidence map of 175 systematic reviews of randomized controlled trials on mindfulness interventions shows that most research addresses general health, psychological conditions, chronic illness, pain, and substance use. Only 26 reviews focused on workplace settings or specific occupational groups such as healthcare professionals, educators, and caregivers. The map illustrates the distribution of evidence by primary outcome area and outlines promising applications. The authors conclude that the evidence map offers an overview to inform policy and organizational decisions about employee wellbeing, while highlighting gaps in workplace-specific research.
