Kada droga ima svrhu

Hrvatska revija za rehabilitacijska istraživanja June 29, 2026 Dijana Jerković, Tihana Novak, Anita Jandrić Nišević

A qualitative study among 24 adult users of stimulant drugs in Croatia (13 men, 11 women; average age 39.6 years, range 21–55) explored their motives and contexts of use. Participants had used MDMA/ecstasy, amphetamine, methamphetamine, cocaine, or synthetic cathinones in the past 12 months. Initial use was driven by curiosity, fun, peer influence, and upbringing circumstances, but recent use showed a more complex motivational structure: hedonistic-social motives, emotional regulation, functional motives (work endurance and productivity), and identity/social positioning. Several typical developmental pathways emerged, including transitions from recreational to functional or introspective use and frequent use in demanding work conditions.
