International Journal of Innovative Science and Research Technology (IJISRT) July 4, 2026 N. K. Hiregoudar, Siddappa Naragatti
India faces a heavy burden of chronic non-communicable diseases alongside persistent infectious illnesses, prompting its healthcare system to adopt integrative medicine models. This article examines Yoga's therapeutic role as an evidence-based, natural healthcare measure within India's primary, secondary, and tertiary medical frameworks. The authors anchor Yoga in Patanjali's Ashtanga Yoga and classical Hatha Yoga, exploring how these traditions intersect with modern clinical science across preventive, promotive, and curative paradigms. They highlight institutional mechanisms under the Ministry of AYUSH and the Ayushman Bharat framework that drive Yoga's systemic integration into public healthcare.
