A quasi-experimental study tested mindfulness training based on metaphors from Molavi's Masnavi among depressed female psychology students. Forty participants were randomly assigned to an experimental or control group. The experimental group attended eight 90-minute sessions. Compared with controls, the experimental group showed significant improvements in psychological capital components—self-efficacy, resiliency, hope, and optimism—and these gains persisted at a one-month follow-up. The authors conclude that this metaphor-based mindfulness therapy improves psychological capital in depressed female students.
