The Effectiveness of Mindfulness- Based Metaphors in Molavi's Masnavi on Components of Psychological Capital among Depressed Female Students

Faṣlnāmah-i Farhang Mushavirah va Ravān/Darmānī January 30, 2023 Fatemeh Eslahi Farshami, Ali Asghar Asgharnejad Farid, Khadijeh Abolmoali Alhosseini et al.

A quasi-experimental study tested mindfulness training based on metaphors from Molavi's Masnavi among depressed female psychology students. Forty participants were randomly assigned to an experimental or control group. The experimental group attended eight 90-minute sessions. Compared with controls, the experimental group showed significant improvements in psychological capital components—self-efficacy, resiliency, hope, and optimism—and these gains persisted at a one-month follow-up. The authors conclude that this metaphor-based mindfulness therapy improves psychological capital in depressed female students.

Spirituality and self-transcendence in the Counseling Profession: A Qualitative Analysis

Faṣlnāmah-i Farhang Mushavirah va Ravān/Darmānī January 30, 2023 Laleh Babajani Botoujeni, Yasser Rezapour, Shokofe Mottaghi

Interviews with 10 counselors in Yazd province who had high career motivation and low burnout revealed five dimensions of spirituality and self-transcendence: personal (leading to personal growth and job satisfaction), social (improving client relationships through altruism), occupational (helping counselors enjoy their work despite challenges), ontological (creating a ripple effect on community and individuals), and divine (involving God's presence and religious principles). These dimensions enhanced counselors' quality of life both professionally and personally.
