Elements of Consciousness and Cognition. Biology, Mathematic, Physics and Panpsychism: an Information Topology Perspective

This review argues that consciousness has an electrodynamic intrinsic nature sustained by an analogical code, drawing on biological, cognitive, physical, and mathematical perspectives. It proposes information topology as a unifying framework to synthesize major models of consciousness and cognition within a formal Gestalt theory. The first chapter examines perception across neural organizational scales and highlights diverse learning mechanisms, including adaptive and homeostatic processes. The second chapter explores logical aspects of cognition, offering an axiomatization based on measure and probability theory, and sketches a procedure for expressing information in mathematical formulas. Information topology is presented as a way to quantify statistical interactions and reconcile competing theories of consciousness.
