Mindfulness in Positive Psychology: The Art of Present Living

Archives of Social and Educational Studies June 30, 2026 Chiranjit Mandal, Sumit Mondal, Manikanta Paria

Mindfulness practice can contribute to general well-being by reducing stress, supporting emotional balance, increasing positive emotions, strengthening resilience, encouraging prosocial attitudes, and improving the quality of daily experiences. A narrative review of conceptual, correlational, and intervention-based studies across clinical, non-clinical, educational, and workplace contexts synthesizes how present-moment awareness supports well-being, happiness, resilience, and meaningful living. The article clarifies mindfulness and positive psychology, their shared concern with human flourishing, emotional regulation, and cultivation of positive experiences, and discusses practical applications in daily activities, relationships, work, education, health, and contemporary challenges.
