Abstract
Abstract The Mysticism Scale (M Scale) was created to measure reported mystical experience. The M Scale is based on two assumptions: mystical experience is a universal experience and no mystical experience relies on the presence of any of the core categories of mysticism. The scale intends to provide the option to measure mystical experience in religious context. The scale is derived from Stace’s (1960) deliberate conceptualization of mystical experience as cross-cultural and impartial to religious ideology. Therefore, the scale is appropriate for use across religious traditions or for the spiritual but not religious population.
