| Key points | Argues that Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy does not constitute a genuine "synthesis" of cognitive therapy and Buddhist mindfulness, since no systematic theoretical account of the body in Buddhist mindfulness exists; contends that a phenomenological understanding of bodily being-in-the-world is required, and proposes that future mindfulness-based therapy be based on a phenomenological cognitive science or psychology. |
