Kularnava Tantra - Rite of the Five Forbidden Things

Abstract

This book is a Spanish translation of the compilation made by M. P. Pandit in English of the Kularnava Tantra from Sanskrit, with an introduction by Arthur Avalon and published in 1973. The Spanish translation was carried out by Editorial Eyras and includes a foreword by Ramiro Calle. This text is an edited version with marginal notes and highlighted sections to facilitate study, used as required reading for students of the Certified Tantra Course at the Argentine School of Tantra. The Kularnava Tantra is one of the most important texts of the Hindu Tantric tradition, belonging to the Kaula or Kulamarga current. It is a philosophical and practical work that outlines the foundations of the Tantric path, emphasizing direct experience, inner discipline, and spiritual transformation. Throughout the text, teachings are presented on the nature of consciousness, the relationship between guru and disciple, the ritual use of the body and energy, and the integration of the sacred into everyday life. The text also distinguishes between external and internal practices, stressing that the true essence of Tantra does not lie solely in ritual, but in profound spiritual realization. Likewise, it emphasizes the importance of initiation, the transmission of knowledge through an authorized lineage, and the guidance of the guru as central elements of the path. Considered a classical manual of non-dual Tantra, the Kularnava Tantra has had a significant influence on various esoteric schools in India.
