Abstract

Anxiety or anxiety disorders are among the most prevalent mental health problems experienced by modern society, affecting both men and women, particularly in the digital era due to pressures from family, work, academic demands, and social environments. One non-pharmacological approach that is widely used to address anxiety disorders is mindfulness meditation. This article aims to examine conceptually and empirically the effect of mindfulness meditation on reducing anxiety levels. The method employed is a literature review of relevant national journals. The findings indicate that consistent practice of mindfulness meditation is effective in reducing anxiety symptoms through increased self-awareness, improved emotional regulation, and greater acceptance of unpleasant experiences. Therefore, mindfulness meditation can be recommended as a complementary intervention in the management of anxiety disorders
