Abstract
This paper aims to analyze the concepts mobilized by Augustine in De Trinitate, as well as to address the arguments presented to justify the nature of the mind (mens). Furthermore, I argue that, within this work, self-knowledge functions as a sufficient epistemological foundation for the defense of the mind’s incorporeity. In this context, I examine the roles of memory and will as constitutive structures of the mind. Consequently, the article concludes by reiterating the relevance of Augustinian thought to contemporary debates within the philosophy of mind.
