LUCID DREAMS AND OUT-OF-BODY EXPERIENCES REPORTS: DIFFERENCES IN EMOTIONAL CONTENT, DREAM AWARENESS, AND DREAM CONTROL

Lucid dreams and out-of-body experiences differ in emotional content, dream awareness, and dream control. Lucid dreams are associated with more positive emotions and greater awareness and control within the dream, whereas out-of-body experiences involve more neutral or negative emotional content and less dream control. The findings suggest distinct phenomenological profiles for these two types of altered states of consciousness.
