Many people are physically healthy but mentally and spiritually ill, as evidenced by ongoing crimes such as murder, rape, and corruption, even though perpetrators know these acts are forbidden by their religion. A deeper understanding of meditation, particularly Vipassana meditation in Buddhism, may serve as a remedy for such mental illness. This research addresses the lack of knowledge about meditation and its potential to heal the mind.

Abstract

Abstract This research started from a problem, especially in the knowledge of meditation that was raised because there are still people who do not understand the subject of meditation in Buddhism, especially Vipassana meditation. It is also influenced by many people being physically healthy but spiritually and mentally ill. We just witness in the mass media that we often hear cases of murder, rape, corruption, and other crimes. Even though they understood the deeds were forbidden by religion but they still did. Therefore, there is a need for more understanding of meditation which can be a remedy for the mentality of people who are sick.
