Dream Sociodrama

The Journal of Psychodrama Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy January 22, 2026 Joseph Dillard

Dream sociodrama, a methodology combining Moreno's sociodrama and sociometry with Ken Wilber's AQAL model, is part of a broader integral deep listening practice. In this playful and constructive approach, a protagonist selects three life issues and shares a dream, nightmare, waking drama, sociocultural crisis, or historical event. Group members take roles and answer scripted questions to generate surprising and humorous transformations, followed by the protagonist. Participants then develop action plans based on recommendations from the interviewing process.

History and Clinical Applications of Moreno’s Contribution to Transpersonal Psychology

The Journal of Psychodrama Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy January 22, 2026 Rebecca M. Ridge, Karen Drucker

J. L. Moreno's ideas and philosophy, beginning in 1918, led to the development of psychodrama and profoundly influenced humanistic and transpersonal psychology. His intuitive understanding of human nature, investigation of group social structures, and spiritual beliefs shaped a new paradigm for psychotherapy in the 20th century, though few early trailblazers credited him. This article reviews Moreno's contributions to these schools, as described by Abraham Maslow and collaborating psychotherapists. A literature review of transpersonal psychology applications is followed by a four-step model focusing on transpersonal roles and resources for healing, with clinical examples for psychodramatists.
