THE ROLE OF REPETITIVE DHIKR AS A SPIRITUAL THERAPY FOR ADDICTION RECOVERY

International Journal of Education Psychology and Counseling June 5, 2025 Rozeeda Kadri, Zaifuddin Md Rasip

A proposed recovery model for substance abuse should integrate spiritual elements alongside biological, social, and psychological factors, particularly for Asian populations in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand where divinity is central to daily life. The paper argues that Western models overlook these spiritual dimensions. Zikr repetition, a meditative and spiritual practice, is suggested as a healing tool for substance abuse recovery.

PROPOSAL FOR A HOLISTIC MINDFULNESS-BASED INTERVENTION PROGRAM FOR THE CLASSROOM TEACHERS WITH MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEMS

International Journal of Education Psychology and Counseling September 15, 2019 Phuong Lan Nguyen, Cong Du Huynh

Teachers' mental health problems are often overlooked despite their potential to harm students. This paper reviews literature to categorize common mental health issues among teachers and proposes a holistic mindfulness-based intervention program. The program includes 2 modules with 9 sessions, each lasting 60 minutes. The authors argue that such an intervention could address the lack of support for teachers' mental well-being.
