Abstract
This decade of spiritual meditation is heatedly being discussed among researchers to improve the recovery models of substance addictions such as drugs, marijuana, alcohol and similar existing by incorporating spiritual aspects into a biopsychosocial model. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to propose a model of substance abuse recovery that needs to be developed so that current patterns can be met. This study uses literature methods by collecting relevant data, analyzing the data to obtain a concept of drug recovery. Study shown that model pioneered by Western scholars only points to the biological, social and psychological values, whereas most Asian people, especially Southeast Asia such as Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand, stick to the divinity aspect of everyday life. Therefore, the best recovery method should include spiritual elements and belief in God to form a comprehensive model. With that, the author suggests, zikr repetition is one of the initiatives that has a meditative and spiritual component that can be used as a healing tool in the recovery process of substance abuse.
