Vipassana Meditation an Indigenous Approach for Good Self-Esteem and Self-Efficacy

Social Science and Humanities Journal August 7, 2023 Inchara Chamaiah Swamy, G.Venkatesh Kumar, M.C Manjunatha

Adults who practice Vipassana meditation show different levels of self-esteem and self-efficacy compared to those who do not. The study compared 16 adults who practiced Vipassana with 16 adults who had no awareness of the practice, using the Generalized Self-Efficacy Scale and Rosenberg self-esteem scale. Vipassana, an ancient Indian technique rediscovered by Gautama Buddha 2500 years ago, is described as a self-transformation method that brings awareness to mind-body interconnection. The research highlights the relevance of Vipassana for better mental health in the modern world.
