Utilizing Meditation Audio in Warrior Mind Training Treat Traumatized Firefighters

BCP Social Sciences & Humanities October 18, 2022 Mengqi Zou

Meditation helps firefighters reduce symptoms of insomnia and trauma. After listening to meditation audio, a post-intervention group showed improvements in insomnia (p=0.099, χ²=4.63) and traumatized symptoms (p=0.079, χ²=3.086), with significance set at 0.1. Meditation offers a side-effect-free way to build resilience for firefighters frequently exposed to traumatic scenes.

Mechanism and Application of Mindfulness in Psychotherapy to Treat Depression

BCP Social Sciences & Humanities October 18, 2022 Jiacheng Xu

Mindfulness, defined as a technique that helps people focus on the present and accept new information without stereotyped thinking, shows promise in treating depression. Depressed individuals tend to develop uniform thinking patterns toward external stimuli, leading to persistent negative feelings. By breaking this cycle, mindfulness can be used as a psychotherapeutic strategy. This literature review examines the relationship and application of mindfulness in treating depression and suggests future research directions.
