The Construction Approach of Machine Consciousness and Its Limitations

Machine consciousness research follows two main approaches: the algorithm-construction strategy, which uses mathematical and theoretical computations without reference to the human brain, and the brain-like-construction strategy, which attempts to generate consciousness through biophysical mechanisms based on how the human brain produces consciousness. This paper presents both paths and analyzes their limitations.
