Psilocybin in the Treatment of Mental Disorders

Psilocybin, a classic serotonergic psychedelic, shows promise for treating depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, eating disorders, and addiction. This review analyzes existing literature on its therapeutic effects, possible mechanisms, and the ethical and legal issues surrounding clinical use. It also offers suggestions for future psilocybin-assisted therapies, aiming to serve as a resource for researchers and clinicians seeking to understand its potential and develop new mental health treatment strategies.
