The San Pedro cactus (Trichocereus spp.), rich in mescaline, and Anadenanthera colubrina (vilca) are entheogenic plants prominent in Andean art. This article examines the ten-inch-wide flower that crowns the cactus and its numerous variants depicted in 64 Wari textiles. The artistic representations closely correspond to botanical parts: the bud (containing ovary, ovule, seeds) and the central vertical tip (style, stigma) flanked by stems with tips (filaments, anthers). Revealing these interior components abstractly evokes the flower in full bloom.
