Integrating yoga and meditation into school Physical Education curricula yields benefits across mental, emotional, physical, cognitive, and social domains, including reduced stress and anxiety, improved mood, enhanced self-esteem, increased concentration, and positive effects on academic performance. Promising outcomes are also noted for neurodiverse students. The review calls for more rigorous research designs and objective measures. Practical implementation requires seamless curriculum integration, developmentally appropriate pedagogy, and comprehensive teacher training that includes trauma-informed approaches and personal wellness. Challenges include resistance, resource limits, and need for standardized research.
