A poesia oral de um sábio da floresta: fragmentos e diálogos

This article presents fragments of the oral, daimista, Amazonian poetry of Luiz Mendes, a wise elder from the Amazon of Acre, Brazil. It offers a brief cultural analysis in ethical dialogue with this repertoire, understood as a repertoire of resistance. The oral document is the core of the research and writing; in dialogue with it and with various authors, the work examines characteristics, relations, and conflicts between languages and cultures; oralities and writings; traditions and translations; memories and narratives; body, voice, letter, and performance. The challenge is to listen, transcribe, read, analyze, and weave written representations of a living work of Amazonian ayahuasca oral poetry without folklorizing it.
