Health care personnel who meditated regularly had higher mental well-being and lower depression than non-meditators six months after a structured Vipassana-informed mindfulness meditation program. The study compared 60 health care workers from a primarily Buddhist population using the Primary Mental Health Questionnaire and the CES-D depression scale. Regular meditators scored significantly better on both measures. The findings suggest that this simple, low-cost meditation approach may help improve mental well-being among health care professionals.
