Animated documentaries can transform how viewers perceive individual consciousness and subjective reality. Analyzing Chris Landreth's 2004 film "Ryan" through visual and interpretive content analysis, the work argues that animation makes characters' inner worlds tangible by embodying psychological states as physical deformations. The findings suggest that such films deepen audience understanding of phenomenal consciousness and subjective experience, offering an innovative perspective on documentary aesthetics. Ultimately, animated documentaries can render both objective reality and personal experience visible in compelling, multi-layered ways.
