Determinizmin Yeni Savunması: Nörobiyolojik İndirgemecilik

Kader December 27, 2021 Mehmet Ödemiş

This article examines determinism, particularly neurobiological determinism, and its implications for free will and moral agency. The authors argue that while genetic and neurobiological factors significantly influence behavior, they do not fully eliminate moral agency. They critique the epistemological assumptions underlying scientific claims, such as the Libet experiment, and highlight the objectivity problem in research, noting that interpretations often depend on researchers' hypotheses and worldviews. The article also discusses the historical development of determinism from Greek philosophy to modern science, and contends that materialist paradigms ignore metaphysical possibilities, limiting understanding of human nature. The authors aim to show why biological determinism cannot entirely negate moral responsibility.
