Crystal structures of the Teonanácatl hallucinogens. Part II. Psilocin, C12H15N2O

Journal of the Chemical Society Perkin Transactions 2 1974 Trevor J. Petcher, Hans Peter Weber 21 citations

The crystal structure of Psilocin, the minor hallucinogenic component of Teonanácatl, the sacred mushroom of Mexico, has been determined. Crystals are monoclinic, space group P21/c, a= 1060(3), b= 853(2), c= 1251(3) pm, β= 91·25(30)°. Data were collected on a linear diffractometer employing graphite monochromatised Mo-Kα radiation. The structure was solved by direct methods and refined by block...

Crystal structures of the Teonanácatl hallucinogens. Part I. Psilocybin C12H17N2O4P

Journal of the Chemical Society Perkin Transactions 2 1974 Hans Peter Weber, Trevor J. Petcher 20 citations

The crystal structure of psilocybin, the major hallucinogenic component of Teonanácatl, the sacred mushroom of Mexico, has been determined in crystals of the monomethanolate. Crystals are monoclinic, space group P21/c, a= 1264(1), b= 2911(2), c= 884·7(6) pm, β= 107·37(2)°, and contain two molecules of psilocybin and two molecules of methanol of solvation per asymmetric unit. Data were collected...
