Exploring Mindfulness Levels and Islamic Religious Manifestations in Early Adolescence

Edu Consilium Jurnal Bimbingan dan Konseling Pendidikan Islam February 8, 2026 Cahyo Agung Kurniawan, Nofi Nur Yuhenita, Hijrah Eko Putro

This descriptive quantitative study analyzed mindfulness profiles among 88 students at SMP Negeri 13 Magelang, using an adapted Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ) with a Cronbach's Alpha of 0.87. Mindfulness levels were moderate across all five dimensions—Observing, Describing, Acting with Awareness, Non-Judging, and Non-Reacting—indicating adequate self-awareness but suboptimal attention and emotion regulation. From an Islamic perspective, mindfulness manifests through values such as patience, gratitude, trustworthiness, sincerity, reliance on God, and open-heartedness. The authors argue that Islamic religious values significantly construct mindfulness and support students' emotional regulation and psychological well-being.
