This chapter argues that psychedelic-assisted therapy can be better understood and integrated by linking the ideas of Carl Jung and Stanislav Grof with the adaptive information processing model used in EMDR therapy. The authors propose that Grof's insights from LSD research offer a way to expand Francine Shapiro's model into transpersonal domains, providing a framework for integrating psychedelic experiences. The chapter situates this within a broader paradigm shift in consciousness research, suggesting a more holistic view of psychopathology.
