The Default Mode Network as D-Apparatus: A Tholonic Hypothesis for Consciousness and Psychedelic States
Zenodo (CERN European Organization for Nuclear Research) July 14, 2026 J Milton
This preprint hypothesizes that the Default Mode Network (DMN) functions as a 'D-apparatus' under premises compatible with the REBUS (Relaxed Beliefs Under Psychedelics) model. It presents illustrative state-space B-scores and contextualizes the hypothesis within the psychedelic literature, proposing Hypothesis 0 and comparing rival frameworks (CSTC, ALBUS/SEBUS). The paper is designated as a companion to Papers 10 and 18 and is deposited solely as a structural consciousness reading, explicitly excluding dosing, diagnosis, or treatment.
