Mindfulness en personas con dolor crónico: Análisis de la evidencia de la terapia de reducción del dolor de Kabat Zinn
Tesis Psicológica February 5, 2026 Carol Viviana Ruiz Herrera
Chronic pain is a complex public-health problem involving biological, psychological, and social factors. This theoretical review examined evidence from 2010–2015 on Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) as a complementary psychotherapeutic approach. The review indicates that mindfulness interventions are associated with improved pain perception, emotional regulation, reduced anxiety and depression symptoms, and increased psychological well-being and quality of life in people with chronic pain. However, the authors note the need for more methodologically rigorous studies to strengthen the evidence base. They conclude that MBSR is a promising intervention that addresses both physiological pain responses and the individual's psycho-emotional meaning of pain.
