Mindfulness na terapia cognitiva: benefícios na redução da dor crônica - uma revisão sistemática

STUDIES IN HEALTH SCIENCES August 4, 2025 Rebecca Gomes Caldas, Arion Leone Sousa Martins, Rafael Rodrigues Polakiewicz et al.

A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials examined the effects of mindfulness-based interventions on chronic pain, comparing them to cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and pharmacotherapy. Mindfulness did not show statistical superiority over CBT (RR = 1.09; p = 0.19), but was significantly more effective than pharmacotherapy (RR = 1.76; p = 0.001). The findings suggest mindfulness may contribute to better emotional regulation, fewer adverse effects, and greater patient engagement. Methodological limitations—small samples, heterogeneity, and lack of standardized outcomes—warrant caution. Mindfulness is a promising alternative for chronic pain management, especially compared to medication, and proper professional training is important for clinical application.
