Zihin-Beden Temelli Bir Yaklaşım Olarak Yoga: Psikolojik İyilik Hali Ve Rehabilitasyona Etkileri

International journal of social science May 14, 2026 Sidrenur Aslan Kolukısa

Yoga, which combines physical postures, breathing techniques, and meditation, is considered a promising complementary approach for supporting psychological well-being and rehabilitation. The review suggests that yoga practices may contribute to reducing stress, anxiety, and depressive symptoms, and to improving self-awareness, emotional regulation, sleep quality, and quality of life. In rehabilitation, yoga may help improve physical functions, manage pain, and support psychosocial well-being in neurological, musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary, and oncological contexts. Proposed mechanisms include autonomic nervous system regulation, stress response modulation, and neuroplasticity. However, the authors note that methodological differences across studies exist and that higher-quality research is needed to confirm clinical efficacy.
