The Effectiveness of Child-Centered Mindfulness Therapy on Social Anxiety and Bullying Among Aggressive Male Students

مجله علوم پزشکی صدرا July 28, 2024 Azam Sobhani Najafabadi, Mahbobeh Sadat Fadavi, Ali Mahdad

A quasi-experimental study with 36 aggressive male students aged 9–12 found that a ten-week child-centered mindfulness therapy program (75-minute sessions) reduced social anxiety and bullying compared to a control group. The therapy had a significant effect on social anxiety and bullying scores. The authors suggest that mindfulness, which involves accepting feelings without judgment and focusing on the present task, may help reduce social anxiety and bullying in aggressive boys.
