Eight-Week Mindfulness Training Effectively Improves Performance in Children with ADHD: A Comparison with Cognitive-Behavioral Training
Behavioral Sciences July 6, 2026 Chenguang Zhao, Yifei Sun, Wei Zhang
Both mindfulness training (MT) and cognitive-behavioral training (CBT) improved ADHD symptoms, test anxiety, and self-concept in children with ADHD after an eight-week intervention, while a control group showed no significant changes. Exploratory analyses suggested that MT and CBT may produce different patterns of change in the relationship between ADHD symptoms and test anxiety. The authors call for further studies to confirm these preliminary findings.
