ESTRESSE E ECOANSIEDADE NA FORMAÇÃO MÉDICA UNIVERSITÁRIA: UM ESTUDO DESCRITIVO BASEADO NOS BENEFÍCIOS DO PROJETO MEDITA-AÇÃO

Revista Tópicos. July 15, 2026 Tiago Fontes Amorim, Andréa Cristina de Sousa, Andresa de Cássia Martini et al.

Elevated stress and anxiety among medical students are compounded by eco-anxiety driven by global climate and ecological crises. An analysis of the Medita-Action extension project at Centro Universitário de Mineiros – Campus Trindade shows that mindfulness-based interventions promote emotional self-regulation, reduce psychological distress, and strengthen connection with nature, transforming environmental distress into motivation for socio-environmental care. The theoretical framework links neuroplasticity evidence with Planetary Health principles. Integrating contemplative practices into medical curricula is a viable and necessary strategy for training resilient professionals aware of 21st-century global challenges.
