The Informational Field Consciousness Theory: DNA as Fractal Antenna and the Limits of Synthetic Biology

The Informational Field Consciousness Theory (IFCT) proposes that consciousness arises from DNA acting as a fractal antenna that couples with a fundamental informational field, with neural networks filtering this information into conscious experience. The theory draws on evidence from DNA's electromagnetic properties, biophoton emission, and quantum coherence in biological systems. It argues that synthetic biology's inability to design functional DNA from scratch, despite successfully replicating existing sequences, hints at undiscovered principles beyond genetic storage, possibly including antenna-like properties shaped by evolution. The authors offer testable experiments to distinguish IFCT from materialist emergence theories and discuss implications for artificial consciousness, ethics, and the nature of life.
