Dream content and daytime attitudes in anxious and calm women.

Anxiety levels influence both how dreams are reported and their content. In a comparison of twenty female anxious neurotic patients with twenty-five normal female volunteers, aggression directed toward the dreamer appeared more often in the anxious patients. Significant links between dream content and daytime attitudes were found across all groups, supporting the continuity hypothesis of dream function.
