A training program based on Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) lowered anxiety levels among new college students. Sixteen first-year students (3 male) at a faculty of animal science participated in an experiment with an untreated control group. Anxiety was measured with the BAI scale. A Mann-Whitney test showed a statistically significant difference between groups (U=2.000, p=0.001), supporting the hypothesis that MBSR reduces anxiety in this population.
